Does WordPress need another SEO plugin?

With the likes of Yoast and Rank Math on the market, you might think that SEO for WordPress is pretty covered, but I didn’t think so.

I recently designed a WordPress plugin for SEO that helps people find internal link opportunities on their websites and to build a strong internal link structure.

The plugin, built with my colleague at Toast, Aaron, doesn’t try to do anything for you; it just finds opportunities for you.

This is crucial to how it works and what makes it different.

Yoast and Rank Math are very good plugins (All in One SEO should get a mention here too). My plugin WILO (short for WordPress internal link finder) allows you to search across all your pages and posts to find content to link back to the current page you are looking at.

You can navigate to any page or post (or CPT) on your site and see what already links to it using what anchor texts.

You can also search your entire site for more internal linking opportunities to create a solid contextual link structure that the search engines will love.

Being able to see the anchor texts being used for the links also means you can ensure you have a broad range of anchor texts and are not stuffing anchors with the same text all the time.

So this plugin doesn’t do the SEO for you, but it presents you with all the information you need to get your website’s internal link structure into good shape.

You can download this on the WordPress plugin repo or via the dedicated website.
